About Me

I am the husband of one beautiful wife and the father of three gorgeous daughters.  I grew up in Franklin County, VA and I am very proud of my rural heritage.  As the son of factory workers and the grandson of sharecroppers, I am extremely grateful for the inheritance of morals and character and hope to pass them along to my children as well.  
Out of an abundance of luck, a bit of hard work, and the tremendous generosity of many people, I was able to attend the College of William and Mary on a football scholarship, graduating with a BA in government. I later continued my education at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia where I would meet my future wife.
My worldview has been informed by my experiences as a young black man growing up in the rural south, the extremely diverse and talented friends I have collected over the years, and a faith born in the pews of my family's baptist church and furthered by my conversion to the LDS faith.
I aim to speak humbly about issues that matter most to me. I hope I can bring a unique perspective that enlightens, changes minds, but most importantly, converts hearts.  I appreciate you taking this journey with me.
